PG&E (Pacific Gas and Electric) – the largest US energy producer and distributor – wanted to shape up a new Human Resources organization and structure for its procurement department.
Recommendations
LBC – following a benchmark of eight global players (via an online survey) – made recommendations that led PG&E to become more involved with its customers; to review and analyze the IT area; to identify and standardize KPIs (key performance indicators); as well as to increase organizational efficiency (which included reviewing supplier relationship management and assessments); to automate the procurement process; and also to implement a talent management system.
