Implementation
The company responsible for managing the Luanda’s Logistics Base, that serves the oil sector in Angola, Sonils - Sonangol Integrated Logistic Services, had a challenge: to develop an internal portal with three main areas: intranet, employee’s portal and websites for eight departments. LBC collaborated with Sonils in the design, development and implementation of the project.
It was decided that the intranet component would be a repository for information from all areas (forms, templates, norms and procedures, welcoming and security data, contact lists, corporate calendar, news, announcements, etc.); that in the employee portal it would be possible for workers to see their profiles, work shifts, salary statements, medical guides; to request vacations/justify absences, and so on; and the website of the various departments would have information regarding its processes, working methods, documents, calendars, etc.
Increase in quality
Each component of the portal congregated a set of basic features that were implemented using the framework Microsoft Sharepoint 2013, and included the contribution from all departments at Sonils (which played a key role in facilitating access to information, contributing to the website’s design).
As a result, the portal has increased the quality of information shared by users, providing channels of communication and interaction with the staff, while giving access to data and documents, automating processes such as requests for vacations or justification of absences (regarding the functions in the Human Resources area, there was the need to integrate Sequence Kinetics with SAP). And Sonils won a platform in production that incorporates not only all the requirements defined in the project as well as others which have emerged during the website’s implementation.
