After being considered the "Most Inspiring Leader" in the Best Leader Awards by LBC, António Horta Osório is now considered the 41st World’s Greatest Leader.

It was in the seventh edition of the Best Leader Awards in 2016, promoted by LBC, that António Horta Osório was distinguished from among the 35 award-winning leaders of the previous years as "The Most Inspiring Leader".

With a 30-year career in banking, the chairman of Lloyds Bank was honored, this time by Fortune magazine, having been ranked 41st World’s Greatest Leader. This sixth annual US publication lists 50 personalities of "men and women who are transforming the world and inspiring others to do the same." Personalities like Bill Gates, Tim Cook, and Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are also on this list.

The work of António Horta Osório caught the attention of Fortune magazine in the first months of his arrival at Lloyds Bank, when he publicly stated that he suffered from exhaustion. The magazine said that the 55-year-old economics professor's attitude had never been openly discussed among top CEOs and "helped to shed a stigma in a notorious sector by pushing workers beyond their limits."

Within his "Inspiring Leader" style, when interviewed by LBC regarding the Best Leader Awards, Horta Osório said: "there is nothing, as a manager, that gives me more pleasure than to empower, inspire and develop the people with whom I work, both personally and professionally. "

For Carlos Oliveira, CEO of LBC, the fact that the Best Leader Awards winners are currently recognized at a global level, illustrates the Best Leader Awards' high standard of existence.
